It was already announced last week by Pinoy Big Brother Double Up Host Toni Gonzaga that another major event will take place this Saturday and that is the PBB Double Up “The Big Swap” between Cathy Remperas from Bohol and Katlin Laas from Big Brother Finland.

If we will try to remember from previous season of Pinoy Big Brother, The Big Swap is already a part of a big event in the season in where an exchange of housemate will take place from another Big Brother show franchise from a foreign place or from other country. The main purposes of the Big Swap is not only to give a big twist in the reality show story but also to let the housemate promote and introduce his/her country to the host country. In such a way that itwill boost tourism and identification of the franchising countries of Big Brother show.

And finally, straight from Big Brother Finland, the sexy Estonian-born Katlin Laas already arrived in Manila and already entered the Pinoy Big Brother Double Up house today for the Big Swap event. On the other hand, our very own Cathy Remperas already flew in Finland to fulfil her mission there.

The 22-year old Finnish Big Brother housemate is a food processing worker and admitted that she is not that fluent in English. Expect “Kuya” to give her a big task in her English speech as well as Tagalog lessons in the next few days. Kattlin describes herself as a cheerful and a positive person. She hates people who oversized ego and who lie a lot and those people who are pleasers.

The Big task there if Kattlin will be able to relate with other PBB housemates and will she be able to adjust to the culture and languages of the Filipinos. What foreign traits and culture will she introduce to the housemates and to all the Filipino fans who always watch Pinoy Big Brother Double Up.

Let us also find out what will Cathy Remperas do in Finland and how she will also be able to adjust with the culture in Finland. What will be her learning in the said country and what will she bring back here in the Philippines after the Big Swap?

With the revelation of two houses and a plethora of violations by the housemates, things couldn't get crazier inside the Big Brother house with the entrance of Kuya's additional residents.

House B is still reeling from their loss in their weekly task. And without the house budget, things looked a bit gloomy last Friday for Tom, Carol, Yuri, Yhel and Mariel. On the other hand, House A had a handful of violations like taking food from the storage room before the assigned time which resulted to a no-hands use for Paul Jake, Jason, Delio and Princess. Delio had to wear a necklace of guavas as a consequence to taking a bath before the assigned time in addition to wearing a headset and earplugs for talking without his lapel on (Princess and Jason also had to wear these for the same violation.) Princess and Paul Jake were also given a warning by Big Brother for speaking in Visayan, which the other housemates cannot understand and were told to be more considerate of the other people around them.

Both houses were then instructed to decorate their spaces for the spooktacular reveal. Wearing costumes, they were surprised to find new housemates knocking on both doors. Cathy, Tibo and Johan were first to enter House A while Hermes and Patria followed suit in House B. New 'double-up' pair, husband and wife tandem Jimson and Kath had special instructions from Big Brother which involved Patrick, another new housemate. Patrick had to pretend to be Kath's husband while Jimson has to act as if his wife is a stranger to him.

Jimson was instructed to enter House B first while Kath and Patrick were left inside the confession room to strategize. Kath had apprehensions and tearfully explained to Kuya that she's thinking of how her husband will react to the situation. Patrick also said that his wife at home would be feeling jealous if ever their 'acting' was not revealed as a task. Soon, the 'couple' entered House B and introduced themselves as husband and wife while Jim looked on the sidelines. However the original girls of House B immediately noticed the lack to 'sweetness' between Kath and Patrick. Marielle was quick to say though that their theory can be wrong too since Kuya was really 'doubling' all his tricks this season -- two houses, twins and a married couple.

In House A, a 'couple' also entered the house, Fil-Austrian Rob and Transexual Rica. Like Patrick and Kath, Rob and Rica were instructed to act as a couple inside the house. Rica and Rob were more spontaneous about the situation and immediatly adjusted inside the house. When they had some time alone to talk more about their situation, Rica revealed to Rob about her true identity and she was quite surprised with how quick Rob was to accept her situation. Unknown to them the other housemates were already observing how they were quite close to one another, leaving an impression that there is indeed a connection between the two of them.

After Jimson and Kath blew their cover, it is already given that House B will not be receiving a budget for the following week. Aware of the given situation, Patrick stands out by pleading for another chance to Big Brother. Surprisingly, Big Brother agrees to the said proposition. He generously offers 50% of the original budget to House B in exchange for a special task: Patrick has to stand still on a cart for 12 straight hours. And despite all the hardships, Patrick successfully accomplishes the given task, thus leaving everyone in House B truly thankful to their new housemate.On the other hand, Rob's mock proposal finally takes place. And to Rica's surprise, she accidentally kisses the lad right at the corner of his lips. Unfortunately, the said event instantly makes Rob pretty anxious. Lake lanao or RANAO

Lake Lanao or Ranao^[1] is a large lake in the Philippines, located in Lanao del Sur province in the country's southern island of Mindanao. With a surface area of 340 km². (131 square miles), it is the largest lake in Mindanao, and the second largest lake in the Philippines and counted as one of the 15 ancient lakes in the world.

The lake was formed by the tectonic-volcanic damming of a basin between two mountain ranges and the collapse of a large volcano. It has a maximum depth of 112 meters, and a mean depth of 60.3 meters. The basin is shallowest towards the north and gets progressively deeper towards the south.

The lake is fed by four rivers. Its only outlet is the Agus River, which flows southwest into Iligan Bay via two channels, one over the Maria Cristina Falls and the other over the Linamon Falls. A hydroelectric plant installed on the Lanao Lake and Agus River system generates 70% of the electricity used by the people of Mindanao.

The lake is home to 18 endemic species of freshwater fish and supports a large number of waterfowl. ^[1] In October 2006, a study from the Mindanao State University discovered massive algae contamination in Lake Lanao^[2]. Initially, poor sewage and agricultural waste management were seen as the culprit to the contamination. However, the Department of Agriculture and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources stated that soil erosion from indiscriminate logging and extensive land use and farming are the problems that caused the algae contamination.

A Maranao myth describes the formation of the lake^[1][3]. It is said that a group of angels under the command of Gabriel removed the vast population of Mantapoli to prevent the world from tipping over. The hole that was left was filled with water and threatened to drown the rest of the world. In response, the angels enlisted the help of the Four Winds to gouge out an outlet. The hole became Lake Lanao and the outlet became the Agus river.

Lake Lanao is the main attraction here. It is the deepest lake in the archipelago and is considered one of the oldest lakes on the planet. Ornate mosques dot the shores of the lake, while the surrounding countryside is strewn with farmland and a few ancient torogan houses. These structures have high, sloping roofs.

Feeding the lake is the Agus River, the fastest flowing river in the Philippines. Boating is possible along certain segments of the river, but there isn't much infrastructure for tourists. The scenery along the river is outstanding.

Current Situation of the A(H1N1) Virus

As of May 18, 2009 40 countries have been officially reported 8829 in the laboratories that are confirmed in this cases of a so called A(H1N1) infection. The countries reporting the largest number of confirmed cases include are the following: the United States of America 4714 of people that are confirmed, Mexico - 3103, Canada - 496, Japan - 125, Spain - 103, and the United Kingdom and Great Bretain and Northern Ireland - 101. Together these 6 countries account for 97.9 % of the total number of confirmed cases. The majority of deaths have occured in persons below 60 years old. Four countries reported of deaths these are: Mexico - 68, United States of America - 4, Canada - 1, and Costa Rica - 1. The virus has transmitted to person-to-person to sustain institutional and community outbreaks and to spread regionally. Most cases of these influenza infection seem to be mild and self-limited. In addition, severe illness and deaths have also been reported in adults with underlying medical conditions including chronic lung or cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and immunodeficiencies. Moreover, pregnant woman may be at increased risk of complications from the new influenza Virus.
